Sunday Mass Style for Her

Whether it’s a holiday, a special event, or just a typical Sunday service, church is a place you always want to put your best foot (and look) forward. If you’ve got a young daughter, shopping for cute little girls’ clothes can be a lot of fun—but it can be tough to know whether a certain style is church-appropriate. Here’s how you can keep your daughter looking lovely this Sunday and beyond.

Stylish and Appropriate Fashion for Church

Make sure you know whether your church has a dress code that you are required to follow. If there is no set dress code, it’s best to err on the side of caution and look for pieces that are modest and pretty rather than flashy.

For a typical Sunday, something like a floral print dress in a classic cut is a perfect combination of style and simplicity. On special occasions, however, you can get away with something a little more glamorous. More colors, floral sashes, embroidery, and organza—more styles are fair game on these special days. Just make sure the hem and neckline are appropriate (not too short or too plunging) and that it isn’t so bright or over-the-top that it will distract from the purpose of the day. Remember: It’s not a pageant!

Don’t Forget the Littlest Ones

Kids’ dress clothes rules are much the same for babies and toddlers, though they may be given a bit more slack considering their age. Let’s be honest. It’s hard enough to get a two-year-old dressed for an average day at home, much less a morning at church. When it comes to these little ones, opt for something that strikes a balance between style and comfort.

A simple cotton shirt and skirt with leggings and a pair of flat shoes may not sound particularly elegant, but an uncomfortable toddler is a force to be reckoned with! The more comfortable they are in their church clothes, the less likely they’ll be to start taking their shoes off mid-mass. You should still keep things formal, of course, and avoid graphic tees and other play clothes.

Every Little Girl Deserves a Pretty Easter Dress!

In addition to its religious significance, Easter has a long cultural tradition of celebrating the season through fashion. Little girls, in particular, have become a focus of this tradition, delighting friends, neighbors, and loved ones in their pretty frocks. Again, kids’ dress clothes for Easter can have a bit more of a flourish than typical church outfits but should remain within church dress code rules and not be too outlandish. Our elegant butterfly dress featuring blue organza, a contrasting pink lining, and a neatly tied pink accent bow is a perfect example of modest, pretty Easter fashion.
